THE 117 PUBLIC HELP LINE SERVICE

117The "117" Public Help Service has become an established reality which,ever since its introduction in 1996, has received 378,892-plus calls; as a testament to citizen satisfaction with a direct interface with the taxation authorities.
Besides providing direct information and assistance to callers, in the year 2005 the Corps has deployed more than 200,292 patrol services 24 hours a day, throughout the national territory, coordinated by the provincial operational desks, which have constituted the device to ensure the adequate and timely response to emergencies reported by the citizens.
This commitment is the most visible proof of the Corps' will, on the one hand, to ensure the safeguard of the primary economic-financial interests and, on the other, to provide, also through the control of the territory, the other Police Forces with assistance in maintaining law and order and public security.
